Since September 2007, I have been producing two hours of quality entertainment every Thursday night on Bleecker Street, in New York City's Greenwich Village. We have poets, comedians, musicians and other activist artists giving voice to their work and vision. And the evening is free. No admission charge. I have been recording these shows and playing them on the Songs of Freedom television program, as well as circulating them on the internet. More information about that can be found at www.singfreedom.org. We have been building a following since we started and have featured evenings showcasing performers and causes. This show was recorded early in our process on an evening where it was just me, our gregarious bartender, and a few jolly souls who stopped in after hearing the music from the street. The songs that night included: Songs of Freedom Deportee Pay Me No Mind Is There Anybody Here? and Joel's Strangest Dream From such humble beginnings we are creating a space for progressives to convene and conspire and enjoy entertainment along the way. So, tune in...and don't drop out. peace, joel landy
