It must be said though that the Rangitikei River had the last laugh, smearing the boys along the wall in Dogs Leg, and giving them a bit of a dip. Brian interviews Ross and Andy after the trip. Early April 2010, and the mission was on. Raewyn Larcombe from the New Zealand Rafting Assoc. organised an end of season trip on the Grade 4-5 Whitcombe River, not far from Hokitika on the West Coast of the South Island, NZ. Derek and Brian decided it was too good an opportunity to miss, and spent two full days travelling there and back to be part of the mission. And what a mission! Fun steep rapids, awesome scenery and great people to be on the river with.
