In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History month, this episode, filmed on MLK day, January 21, 2008, follows a day in the life of Byard Lancaster, a political activist, Pennsylvania jazz lobbyist, and phenomenal multi-instrumentalist. He is a key contributor to Philly Jazz, as both host and performer. Here Byard leads the processional into the Zion Baptist Church in North Philly, speaks and plays to the SRO crowd at the annual Martin Luther King Day service, then heads across town to play the National Anthem at the Sixers game. With cameos from Gov. Ed Rendell, Mayor Michael Nutter, and police commissioner Sylvester Johnson.
