Part of their presentation at the Spring 2008 Scholarship & Awards Concert at Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School in Oak Park Illinois. They had just returned from a triumphant weekend at the Music In The Parks National Music Festival where they received the highest marks and were rated as superior. They are a really great organization that works to promote one of the most beautiful of industrial art forms. The museum is well worth a visit the next time your in LA. Right now you can?t as they are relocating. They do offer a variety of three hour neon themed bus tours that are a really great time. Drinks & refreshments are on hand & they do make stops. During my endless drive to and from work I look for moments of beauty along the way. This statue located just north of downtown Glenview across for the train station is one of them. Commissioned by Edwin S. Jackman in 1917. It is really quite a work of art with lovely details of wild animals and native Americans. It's a work of art, a fountain and a small slice of Glenview Illinois history all in one. Right next to the fountain is this more contemporary metal statue of two children. So take a couple of minutes relax and enjoy this moment of beauty.
