If you wander the streets of Seoul, South Korea, fairly soon you will spot an illuminated, rotating cylindrical device fixed to a wall, usually with a red, white and blue pattern on it (although other colours and even images are used). These indicate a barber's shop is in the building.
Barber's shop 'poles' are oddly fascinating to watch, even a little hypnotic if you stand there long enough, and to me they are one of the sights that makes Seoul such a distinctive city to visit. In this "short", we present just a couple of examples seen during our August 2008 visit.
