the mayor of hammond presented us, that's right us as in amy and me.... we received the jene shepherd day proclamation because, well... because we put close to 6,000 asses in the seats for starters. the day before the fest they made us sign a contract stating we wouldn't represent satan, horror movies, goth culture, and religious debate ect and so on... we signed the paper, the event happened and they have sense tried to scrub us out of that history. also in this video the actors who played the kids from the film "a christmas story" speak our praises... we were the first, the libraries lacked his books. Captain Grant Mitchell is an odd fellow to say the least. We could start with the Captain title and it's origins or the fact that we were told a young student that worked for him was, in another life, his soul mate... but, for now, we'll just stick to the fact that Amy worked some 90 hrs in 10 days and was robbed of overtime or the fact that I was paid for 20 hrs of work, even though I put in 40 hrs. An odd fellow indeed - he reminds me of the type of guy who dresses as a clown for kids parties. Regardless, after loosing his own ranch, belittling and blaming his ultra young wife for it and living in his truck because of it, he now shovels shit for an awesome and worth the price ranch. Personally, I felt our politics are very different, yet our hope for a better tomorrow and our realization that it's gonna take more than voting to get us back to the idealistic America of yesteryear was, well refreshing... it's the first moment of the trip I felt an American unity, not the country America, but the people of America.
